Sips Solar Greenhouse

If you ever wondered how to extend your season into the winter, an insulated greenhouse is your answer. Key features is what makes these greenhouses unique unlike their poly & glass  metal frame counterparts, the insulating qualities along with heated soil, an effective heat sink, solar powered vents, circulating air, and a supplemental but yet low cost heat source for those frigid nights.. is what your plants need to survive into the next season, and don’t forget a little TLC…every greenhouse needs this…

The nice thing about this concept is that you can build it yourself with every day materials. Most greenhouses can be built by a general craftsman with basic carpentry skills and tools. There are a few tricks of the trade that you’ll need to learn about. Just e-mail me and I’ll be happy to help.

Insulated greenhouses work great for starting seedlings in the late winter or early spring so that you can get a head start on the growing season. The nice feature is that now you leave them there all summer long as well as all winter long, with proper care your plants will keep producing a nourishing harvest. This is also the ideal place  to house your outdoor potted plants during colder winter months when the temperature in your zone may fall below the optimal temperature. When planning for a insulated greenhouse take into consideration foundation preparation as you will need to achieve a way to warm the soil, this is very important since the roots of all plants are very sensitive to temperature.

The positioning of your Greenhouse and your storage requirements will determine the size of your new structure. Type of heat sink is also critical since you will have to figure what is best to store radiant heat and how much room that will take.. If your zone has hard and cold winters then take into consideration the type of R-factor you’ll need to achieve all year round plant growth… All in all there is much to learn but not out of reach for those who truly want to achieve a rich and healthy growing environment for your family needs. Yes the outlay in the beginning may be a bit but not nearly as much as other alternatives and the rewards are very gratifying as well as economical in the long run.

Now you too can enjoy and consume your very own freshly grown organic vegetables and herbs all year long. So if you want to discuss your ideas or possibilities and approximate cost,  give a us a call… 719 302 4264…
